Katie O'Reilly joined the Philadelphia 76ers in September 2013 to head up the new Business Development department where she is responsible for creating and expanding strategic revenue initiatives for the organization.
Now in her third year with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Lower Merion native oversees the Sixers Business Development, Event, Corporate Hospitality and VIP Experiences departments, as well as leading the team’s brand marketing initiatives. O’Reilly also oversees dynamic business development projects surrounding the Sixers' new 125,000-square-foot Training Complex – which will be the largest in the NBA – including the partnership creation, development and launch of the Sixers Innovation Lab: Crafted by Kimball Office, located at this new Training Complex and the first ever run in-house by a professional sports team.
O’Reilly is responsible for creating and instituting organizational processes to better link and enhance efficiency of the overall Philadelphia 76ers organization. She played a key role in the development of the Patriot Partner platform launched in the fall of 2013, as well as evolving the sponsorship sales process and transition to a marketing solutions model. She closed the largest team deal in the 2014-15 season with the Rothman Institute at Jefferson Hospital.
She also oversees the “1776 Sports & Entertainment” initiative, which creates opportunities for Philadelphia-focused live events to access and consult with Sixers sales, marketing and publicity executives and resources; inaugural partners include the Dad Vail Regatta, Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame and Philadelphia Fashion Week. O’Reilly created and established the “PHILA100” – the Philadelphia 76ers exclusive business network of the “Top 100” leaders and influencers in the greater Philadelphia region, and oversees the production of two major events to support this network annually.
Before joining the 76ers, O’Reilly served as the Director of Partnership Marketing for Insignia Sports & Entertainment, a start-up full service agency under the parent company RSE Ventures. As the Director of Partnership Marketing, O’Reilly was responsible for developing, activating and overseeing marketing partnerships for all clients, namely the International Champions Cup held every summer in August.
As part of IMG College prior to Insignia, O’Reilly served as the National Program Director at the nation’s leading collegiate multimedia, marketing, and licensing brand-management company. There she oversaw the sales development and inventory management team responsible for creating integrated national marketing programs, sales materials and media plans for corporate partnerships across 70+ Division I University athletic departments, conferences, and other related properties. O’Reilly was integral in ideating and closing a number of the first-ever national collegiate partnerships, including UPS and Reese’s.
Prior to IMG College, O’Reilly was part of the NBA's Team Marketing & Business Operations division where she served as a sponsorship account contact providing sales and activation best practices across all teams, as well as managed the group's corporate meetings and hospitality events. She also spent time at Madison Square Garden in ticket sales and game night event marketing.
O’Reilly was recognized as a 2016 Philadelphia Business Journal “40 Under 40” Honoree. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a BA in History, and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with her husband, Edward.
